In 2021, Robert A. Aird, Inc. completed a comprehensive building envelope scope at The China Garden restaurant in Frederick, MD, including installation of a fluid-applied air and moisture barrier system utilizing Parex WeatherSeal®. The system was applied over exterior substrates and detailed at transitions, penetrations, and rough openings to maintain full continuity of the air barrier.

Proper integration with adjacent façade systems was critical to achieving a continuous and durable enclosure. The air barrier system helps control air leakage, manage moisture intrusion, and improve overall thermal performance of the structure.

Following the air barrier installation, Aird installed an Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) along with custom faux stone finishes to complete the exterior façade. This coordinated approach ensured both performance and aesthetics were achieved, delivering a durable, energy-efficient building envelope.
