In 2019, Robert A. Aird, Inc. installed a complete fluid-applied air barrier system at the TRU Hotel in Baltimore, MD. The scope included application of the air barrier membrane over exterior sheathing, along with detailing at rough openings, penetrations, and system transitions to maintain full continuity of the building enclosure.

Proper integration with adjacent façade components, including window systems and cladding, was critical to achieving a continuous air seal. Through careful coordination and installation, the system supports long-term performance by controlling air leakage, managing moisture intrusion, and improving overall thermal efficiency.

This project reflects Aird’s experience installing air barrier systems on commercial hospitality construction, where performance, sequencing, and coordination are essential to maintaining project schedule and building envelope integrity.
