Cambria Hotel

2018

In 2018, Robert A. Aird, Inc. completed the installation of a high-performance EIFS façade system at the Cambria Hotel in Hanover, Maryland. As the façade contractor, Aird delivered a continuous insulation cladding system incorporating reinforced basecoat assemblies and specialty metallic EIFS finishes to achieve a modern, panelized architectural appearance.

The metallic finish system was specifically utilized to replicate the look of metal panel construction, allowing the project team to maintain the desired design aesthetic while avoiding the added cost, weight, and installation complexity associated with traditional metal panel systems.

The project required coordination across multiple elevations, façade transitions, and architectural features to ensure a consistent and visually striking exterior. Through proper system integration and installation, Aird delivered a durable, energy-efficient façade that supports long-term performance and moisture management.

By utilizing EIFS in place of metal panels, the project achieved a lightweight, cost-effective exterior cladding solution that aligns with modern hospitality construction demands. The completed façade enhances both the building’s performance and its contemporary visual identity.

The Cambria Hotel remains a key reference project for demonstrating EIFS as a viable alternative to metal panel systems, making it a valuable resource for architects and general contractors evaluating value-engineered façade solutions in Maryland and throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
