Latitude Apartments

2016

In 2016, Robert A. Aird, Inc. contributed to the construction of Latitude Apartments, a 12-story mixed-use development in Arlington, Virginia. As the EIFS subcontractor, Aird, Inc. installed a high-performance exterior insulation and finish system, as well as the orange accent fins and the accent pieces around windows and balconies were crafted out of expanded polystyrene foam (EPS), adhesively and mechanically, attached to the precast concrete walls. In lieu of red steel or concrete we were able to use a lighter and more cost-effective material to give the architect the look they wanted.. This collaboration resulted in a modern, energy-efficient façade that contributed to the project's LEED® Gold certification .
Latitude Apartments features 265 market-rate units, 14 affordable units, ground-floor retail, and a 12,000-square-foot public plaza. The building's design includes a rooftop terrace with amenities such as a fireplace, grills, movie wall, and bocce court . Aird's EIFS work played a crucial role in achieving the building's sleek, contemporary appearance while enhancing its thermal performance.
