Hillsdale College - Kirby Center

2025

At Hillsdale College’s Kirby Center, Robert A. Aird, Inc. performed a comprehensive exterior stucco scope that combined new installation with selective patch and repair work. The project required careful coordination to ensure all new and existing areas blended seamlessly with the building’s classical architectural character.

Our scope included installation of a fiber-reinforced cement stucco system for new construction areas, utilizing the LaHabra stucco system with a Santa Barbara Mission finish. This system was selected to complement the building’s traditional design while delivering a durable, high-performance exterior façade.

In addition to new work, we completed targeted patch and repair of existing stucco using the Senergy system with a fine finish. These repairs required a different approach to ensure compatibility with existing materials, as well as precise finish matching to maintain visual continuity across the façade.

Achieving consistency between the new LaHabra stucco and repaired Senergy areas required meticulous surface preparation, material selection, and application techniques. Special attention was given to transitions, detailing, and finish alignment so the completed façade reads as a cohesive system rather than a combination of new and repaired work.

Throughout the project, our team coordinated closely with other trades to ensure proper integration of air and moisture barrier components, flashing details, and substrate conditions. The result is a refined stucco façade that enhances durability, weather resistance, and long-term performance while respecting the architectural integrity of the campus.
