2016
n 2016, Robert A. Aird, Inc. contributed to the $37 million renovation of the Hyatt Regency Bethesda, a prominent hotel located in downtown Bethesda, Maryland. Working with HITT Contracting and Gensler, our team was responsible for the installation of a high-performance stucco system as part of the building’s exterior modernization.
Our scope included installation of a 3/4" thick fiber-reinforced cement stucco system across exterior elevations, including the upgraded porte-cochère. The system was designed to enhance durability, weather resistance, and long-term performance while supporting the project’s updated architectural vision.
The renovation introduced a refreshed façade intended to reflect a more contemporary aesthetic while maintaining the building’s presence within the surrounding urban environment. Our stucco installation played a key role in achieving a clean, cohesive exterior finish aligned with the design intent.
A major consideration for this project was maintaining active hotel operations throughout construction. Our team coordinated closely with other trades to minimize disruption to guests and staff while maintaining production and quality standards.
The completed façade delivers improved performance, durability, and visual consistency, contributing to the successful repositioning of the Hyatt Regency Bethesda as a modernized hospitality destination.
