Robert A. Aird, Inc. has been in the construction
contracting business since 1975.
We service the Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia region, specializing in Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS),
Stucco, Plaster, and Air Barriers.
We are able to provide a full exterior renovation of your cladding system
including window, door, and sealant replacement.
Robert A. Aird, Inc. employs approximately sixty employees,
no piece workers, and mainly all in house employees.
Our field management staff is OSHA 30,
Respirable Crystalline Silica, Fall Protection, and
CPR/AED/First Aid trained, as well as card-carrying
competent scaffold builders.
Our current Experience Modification Rating is 0.81.
We are bondable, LEED compliant, and insured.

Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS)

AWCI Certified
EIFS is a nonload bearing, exterior wall cladding system that consists of an insulation board attached either adhesively or mechanically, or both, to the substrate; an integrally reinforced base coat; and a
textured protective finish coat.
EIFS with Drainage, another EIFS system, is the predominate method of EIFS applied today. As the name implies, EIFS with Drainage helps to eliminate moisture before it has an opportunity to enter the wall cavity.

Our Stucco systems are fiber-reinforced cement stucco systems, typically including self-furring galvanized lath and zinc or galvanized casing, expansion and corner beads. We also offer elastomeric finish coats to alleviate some of the normal cracking of stucco. In addition, there are several paint finishes that can be applied to further reduce cracking.

New and Restoration
Plaster systems usually consist of a base coat and finish to a hard troweled, smooth surface, ready for paint. Lath and beads are typically included.
Plaster repairs and renovations include the repairs
to gypsum plaster walls and cornices.
In addition, we offer lime plaster, plaster veneer finishes, and acoustic plaster systems.

ABAA Certified
Secondary Weather Resistive Barriers can be used in conjunction with any cladding system to increase its weather resistive properties. It protects the sheathing and structural components from weather damage, extending the life of the structure.
